Water Access: A Foundation for Rural Health

Access to clean drinking water is one of the most fundamental human rights, yet millions of rural Indians still lack this basic necessity. In the villages served by Swades Foundation, the situation has been transformative. With our comprehensive WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) programs, we have installed over 40,000 household drinking water taps.

The impact extends far beyond statistics. Children who once fell sick frequently from waterborne diseases now attend school regularly. Women no longer spend hours fetching water from distant sources. Families have dignity and health.

Through community-led management and maintenance, these systems are sustainable and owned by the people themselves.
