The Swades Foundation organized multiple sessions across schools on Global Warming and the ill-effects of plastic. We also introduced environment-friendly products for the primary school students of Kothari Vadachiwadi. So inspired were Diksha Pawar & Lavesh More that they started to save their limited pocket money just so they could buy cloth bags and propagate the concept of a plastic-free village. These young environmentalists also built also built a small ‘Vanrai bund’ (Soil bund) on the river close to their school to conserve water.
Our Eco-Warriors, as we lovingly call them, have definitely set a benchmark for their urban peers and are a perfect example of how small simple steps can go a long way in making a difference.
