2016 Grant

Thank you to all the applicants for an overwhelming response to our ‘Request for Proposal’ under the HSBC Skills for Life programme!

We received over 800 applications from NGOs across 28 states which are currently being evaluated by our screening partner, KPMG.

KPMG, besides evaluating all applications, will also undertake due diligence check and present the final shortlist to the Advisory Committee in early June for approval of grants.

Screening of applications

The preliminary screening done at Swades Foundation resulted in over 370 applications not meeting the eligibility on the turnover criteria**.

450 applications that qualified the preliminary screening were then assessed by our screening partner KPMG at two levels as below to arrive at the top eligible applicants.

A due diligence check and field evaluation visit will be undertaken by KPMG to these top eligible applicants. However, while on field, if a shortlisted applicant is found to be not suitable then the next ranked applicant will become eligible

The Advisory Committee will receive an information docket on each of the top shortlisted applicant a few weeks in advance of the meeting and meet early June to finalize the disbursement of INR 8 crores to around 20 NGOs.

The decision made by the Advisory Committee will be final and binding.

Each of the above mentioned shortlisted applicant will receive communication from Swades Foundation (email will be received from [email protected]) intimating of the shortlist and a team from KPMG will be in touch with them for further assessment/ evaluation.

**At a minimum grant request of INR 25 lakhs, any NGO with a turnover < INR 1.25 crore in the previous year is ineligible to apply as each grant stands capped at 20% of its income/ turnover in the previous year.
