Nathuram Mandavkar is a beneficiary of Swades’ Sanitation programme from Year 2015. As a farmer supporting his wife and father in law, the hunger for doing something substantial was always on his mind. Due to this trust, when our field support team addressed his community on our Orchard Plantation programme, he was one of the first one to come forward and register.
He took 150 orchard saplings (50 Mangoes & 100 Cashew) early in 2018. Following all the best practises of pre and post plantation, he has ensured a survival rate fo 84% in Year 1 and all these plants are likely to achieve fruition by Year 2022. The expected returns from these 150 orchards is INR 250,000/- per annum from the 4th year. He is further motivated to take up our drip irrigation programme and use advanced techniques for best yield.
Nathuram though old is not ready to retire and is a true entrepreneur.
