Swades strongly believes in #SwaSeBaneDes viz the actions of one person can bring a huge impact in society. That is our true philosophy, the root of the work we do and what we wish to see in the world. Keeping this in mind, Swades Foundation is giving you an opportunity to ‘Be the bearer of change’.
All you need to do is pledge something and take that first step. It could be as simple as donating books to a needy around you, or just helping your house help understand the importance of savings, or anything else that you wish. Choice is totally yours. We at Swades pledge that for every 100 pledges we receive, we will do our bit by supporting 1 rural kid with scholarship, so that education doesn’t stop for them.
So here is your chance to plant the seed of change. Do share this as much as you can and make ‘Swa Se Bane Des’ a movement.
Thank you for your time!
Thank you for your pledge!

Swades Foundation is a Not for Profit organization focussing on rural empowerment through holistic development impacting over 2,700 villages in rural India. Founded by Ronnie & Zarina Screwvala, the Swades Foundation aims to empower 1 million rural lives every five years, lifting them out of poverty by empowering communities to take charge of their own lives.
Swades adopts a model of holistic transformation and works in education, health and nutrition, water, sanitation, and economic development. Its unique 4 E strategy of Engage, Empower, Execute, and Exit truly empowers the community and builds village leadership to take on the mandate of transforming their own village community.
Poor economic condition and the need to earn a living for the family are a major reason why children are dropping out of secondary school in India. This is especially true for rural children who further suffer from travelling long distances for going to school and the costs associated with it. School dropouts are likely to earn less as adults compared to those who complete their education, thus continuing a cycle of poverty. Lower earnings as adults could have a negative effect on health, access to food and quality of life. Additionally, out-of-school children cost India up to 0.30% or $6.7 billion in GDP growth annually.**
You can help us stop this.
Swades Foundation is supporting children in rural Maharashtra to continue their education by providing them all-inclusive scholarships. This includes their annual fees and travelling cost. The scholarship helps them continue their education post 10th grade, gain employable skills and become financially independent adults. So far Swades has supported 5702 children from the remotest parts of Raigad, Maharashtra.
Your contribution will help children in rural Maharashtra continue their education and provide them the opportunity to become financially independent adults.
Give children the gift of education and help them create a bright future #ShikshaNahiTohKalNahi
