Did you Know

Over 3 million children in India are malnourished and more than half of them are severely malnourished.*

Maharashtra is among the top three states with the highest number of malnourished children.**

A child with malnutrition will never be able to reach his/ her true physical and cognitive potential. Severely malnourished children have very low weight for their age and have weak immunity and gastrointestinal problems.

In the long-term, this compromised growth affects their ability to concentrate on studies and many children drop out of school resulting in them not being able to achieve their full potential in future jobs or livelihoods. India cannot afford to lose on the potential of its future productive adults.

The number of Severely Malnourished children has increased by 91% post the COVID-19 pandemic.

These children in most cases just need continuous consumption of nutritious food to come out of malnutrition and live a healthy life. But rural families that live on the margins cannot afford this for their children.

How can you help?

With your support, we aim to provide community-based care for 300 malnourished children in rural Raigad, Maharashtra by providing them with nutrition kits for 12 months.

These kits are carefully designed to meet the additional nutritional needs of these malnourished children and contains Wheat, Chana, Masur dal, Soyabean oil, Kheer packets (Lapse), Butter, Matki, Peanut, and Jaggery laddu. The kit for a year for a family with a malnourished child costs INR 22,000.

Donate now and give rural children a healthy and disease-free future!
