How to volunteer?

Learning Sessions:  Engage with school children, women, farmers, and tribal communities to share knowledge and skills.
Shramdaan:  Participate in physical volunteering during civil work projects.
Plantation Drives:  Contribute to planting new orchards or ornamental plants.
Village Clean-Up:  Help clean and beautify village areas.
House Wall Painting:  Paint and decorate house walls in the community.
Rural Meet and Greet:  Interact with rural communities to understand their needs and aspirations.
Harvesting:  Assist farmers during the harvest season.
Civil Work Shramdaan:  Participate in construction and infrastructure improvement projects.

Note: Select one or multiple opportunities for regular engagement. A minimum charge of ₹150 per person covers the community lunch. Conveyance costs are to be borne by corporates or donors.

Dream Village Tree plantation initiative seeks to beautify villages and create a clean and healthy environment for the people there. This project is implemented in dream villages that are in the process of becoming 1. Swachh (Clean); 2. Sundar (Beautiful), 3. Swasth (well-being consciousness & access to health care); 4. Samrudh (Self-Reliant), and 5. Saksham (Empowered). Corporations can contribute by engaging their employees to volunteer and sponsoring the plants, including procurement costs. As volunteers, they'll work with the local community in digging pits and planting ornamental or flowering tree saplings along the roadside.

Activities involved:

  • Arrival at the designated location
  • A brief introduction to Swades' work and interaction with the community.
  • Plantation activity
  • Community Lunch
  • Departure


  • Note -The actual itinerary will vary depending on the requirements of the corporates/donors and will be sent a week in advance. The cost of the activity depending upon participants ranges from ₹25000 – ₹150000 including saplings and community lunch. The cost of conveyance is to be covered by corporates/donors.

    Who can volunteer with Swades Foundation?

    Anyone above 18 years of age can volunteer. Group sign-ups are preferred, including housing society members, corporates, clubs, etc. Children can volunteer only if accompanied by their parents.

    What are the typical volunteering durations?

    Volunteering activities typically last one day, with 8-9 hours of engagement, including 6 hours of travel (3 hours each way).

    • Trimbakeshwar, Peth, and Surgana blocks, Nashik: Suitable for groups from Nashik and Surat.

    How are logistics managed?

    • Transportation: Vendor partner details are provided for corporate team bookings.
    • Food: Community lunch is provided at ₹150 per person.
    • Equipment: Provided by Swades Foundation, with costs varying by team size and activity type.
    • Support: Our experienced team members coordinate and ensure a seamless experience on the ground.

    What should I wear while volunteering?

    Comfortable clothes and shoes (track pants, t-shirts, sports shoes).

    What do I take away from my volunteering experience?

    A sense of being a changemaker, joy from supporting rural communities, and experiencing rural life. Volunteers receive a badge/kit as a keepsake.

    Do I have to pay for volunteering?

    Yes, a nominal charge of ₹150 per person covers community lunch.
    Additional costs:
    New orchards or ornamental plantation: ₹25,000 – ₹1,50,000 for saplings.
    House wall painting: ₹1,00,000 – ₹3,00,000 including paints and equipment.
    *All costs are to be borne by the company.

    Can I carry gifts for the community?

    Gifts are not encouraged. However, study materials and stationery for rural children is appreciated.

    What safety measures are in place?

    We provide a First Aid kit, training, and emergency contacts to ensure safety.
