Dream Village house wall painting initiative seeks to beautify villages and to build a sense of pride and ownership among the local communities. This project is implemented in dream villages that are in the process of becoming 1. Swachh (Clean); 2. Sundar (Beautiful), 3. Swasth (well-being consciousness & access to health care); 4. Samrudh (Self-Reliant), and 5. Saksham (Empowered). Corporations can contribute by engaging their employees to volunteer for painting the walls of households and sponsoring paints, and painting equipment. As volunteers, they'll work with the local community in selecting the houses to be painted and painting them in the village.

Rural meet & greet initiative seeks to bridge the gap between urban communities and rural communities by dialogues, conversations and sharing challenges in lives of people from the community. Corporations can engage in exchange of ideas, motivation to look forward to challenges in daily life, sharing of success stories, motivational talk, etc. We strongly believe there will be shared learning across both groups with this sort of an interaction.

Across Raigad and Nashik, Swades has supported many farmers with the water for irrigation programme, and now they are successfully cultivating the second crop. Volunteers can engage in the harvesting activity along with the farmer and buy the produce directly from the field. This activity will not only be an enriching experience for the volunteers but also add economic value to the farmers. This includes harvesting fresh fruit and vegetables on a farm. Examples of harvest include watermelons, bitter gourd, leafy vegetables, etc. This activity is subject to season. Ideal period is Dec-Mar.

Community led programs such as drinking water schemes, Bandhara (river bunds) and sanitation are foundational in making a dream village. The process involves the community taking the ownership of physical labour of digging trenches for laying pipeline, levelling of the ground, and digging pits. Corporates can contribute in assisting the community with sweat equity. This would bring a sense of ownership, give the community inspiration and volunteers the feel of being change makers.
